Our Mission Statement
“First Evangelical Lutheran Church invites all to become
disciples, knowing Christ as we worship, celebrate and
serve.”
What are our core values?
As a congregation of disciples we need to know what we
value and those values become the benchmark to which we hold
one another accountable. A statement of values becomes a
guide to the development of positive and healthy attitudes
and behaviors. They help us commit to a common way to live
together.
1. We value a diverse style of worship and music that
includes traditional, contemporary, and drama
2. We value our relationship with God and with each other.
We value the Great commandment: You shall love the lord your
God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with
all your mind, and with all your strength, and you shall
love your neighbor as yourself. We value being there for
each other, serving, caring, and supporting
3. We value an enthusiasm for life long learning for all
disciples.
4. We value people of all ages
5. We value mission out reach to others in the name of Jesus
meeting physical and spiritual needs
6. We value our traditions while being open to where God in
Christ Jesus through the Spirit is leading us.
Our Vision
Our vision is to be a growing and life giving community
of faith. One that celebrates, lives, and speaks the truth
of God’s love, forgiveness, and acceptance as we care for
others and for one another. A community of faith that
reaches out to welcome, invite, and encourage all people of
all ages to be disciples of Jesus. A community of disciples
who strive to grow and mature in our lives of faith, in our
worship, in our service and in our commitment to God
